Skincare Results You Can See: From A Product Tester

Updated: Dec 14, 2021

Want to get some results from your skincare that you can see?

Sure, most skincare products are making good changes at microscopic levels, but wouldn't it be nice to actually be able to see the results?

Here are products I have tested and seen results.

(I will continue to update this)

Paula's Choice BHA

Lanolips 101

Premium Eyelash Growth Serum

The Inky List Bakuchiol

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner

Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel

Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Lotion *new!

Aveda: Botanical Repair *new!

Paula's Choice BHA: $29.50

I used this once daily at night.

I started to see results after using about half of the bottle.

  • Noticeable difference in my pore size around nose

  • Fine lines around eyes reduced

  • Deeper lines on forehead not as visible

  • Clearer complexion

*I have seen the most visible results with this product out of all products I have tested.*

Lanolips 101 Ointment: $15.95

I use this once daily at night.

I saw results from next day to 1 week of use.

  • I have eczema and put this on my hands and by the morning, my dry, irritated spots have dramatically improved.

  • After using this for a week, I no longer needed chapstick throughout the day.

VieBeauti Premium Eyelash Growth Serum: $28.99

I use this twice daily: morning & night.

I saw results after 1 week of use.

  • I know 1 week sounds hard to believe, and believe me, I am the biggest doubter on these lash serums...but no joke, my bare lashes had volume and length after 1 week.

The Inkey List Bakuchiol: $9.99

I use this once daily in the morning.

I saw results after 1 month of use.

A little back story:

I stopped using Paula's Choice BHA in June of 2021 (stopped to test out new product). I started using this Bakuchiol in August. I don't think I would have been able to appreciate or have known the results were coming from the Bakuchiol if I was still using Paula's Choice.

  • Overall increased hydration, no tightness.

  • Pore size reduced

  • Fine lines & deep wrinkles improved

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner: $8.70

I used this once daily in the morning.

I saw results after using about 3/4ths of the bottle.

  • Reduced pore size

  • Overall improved complexion: color, breakouts, smoothness

Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel: $5.84

I use this once daily in the morning (sometimes more throughout the day if my skin feels gross)

I saw results after 1 month of use

  • Clearer complexion

  • Reduced pore size

  • Improved color, glow

  • Fine lines reduced

Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Lotion: $6.49

I use this daily after taking a shower.

I saw results in 1 week.

  • I suffer with eczema on my hands and if I use this daily, my dry, itchy spots stay gone --- which is huge. This one is the best so far.

  • This isn't greasy and my skin instantly feels hydrated.

  • The fragrance is very light, which I like (they do have a fragrance-free version)

Aveda Botanical Repair: $30-$149

*Good Deal (save $95)

This is an investment so if you don't want to commit, you can go to your local Aveda shop and request a sample size or order a travel size to try.

I wash my hair 2-3 times a week and use the shampoo and conditioner exclusively.

I use the light strengthening mask once a week.

I saw results (and started to receive input from others) after 3 months of use. (I have been using it for 1 year now)

  • I have fine, thin hair and this does not weigh down my hair

  • Free from silicone, sulfates, parabens, mineral oil and synthetic fragrances

  • My hair is the longest it has ever been, which makes me believe it is also the strongest

  • I have a noticeable reduction in split ends

  • Increased shine

  • The scent is very mild. It's not my favorite, but I like it. It is very earthy
